If you want some good advice, don’t move to Mississippi. Mississippi has been the bottom of the barrel when it comes to US States as far back as anyone living can remember. It has some of the worst small towns in the United States.

“Mississippi “ has FOUR syllables- it is not pronounced “Misipi!” Where are you from, and how fan.dam.tastic is it?!
YOU’RE A TOAD. If you don’t like it here, go away, and do not ever return. We don’t want you in Mississippi.

  2. Machinegun Preacher on January 7, 2022 at 1:35 am

Being a native and current resident of "Miszippi," as he says it, I can tell you that’s about the truth. The people are generally nice and generous, regardless of their income level, ethnicity, religion; but any and everything to do with schools and the government sucks.

And no, it’s not because of any one political party or ideology. "Conservatives," "libertarians," "socialists," "liberals," and "progressives" alike all run the state and municipalities as if it’s still 1975. You wouldn’t believe it based on what Fox News and CNN tells you, but the problems here aren’t based on race issues or any of the commonly heard "’isms," it’s just that every "leader" here, left, right and center, seems to hate any form of (non-politically biased, just ordinary modernizing) progress.

  3. Mechanical Toad on January 7, 2022 at 1:37 am

Where is Missippi..? You know, before you trash a place, you could at least learn to pronounce its name correctly. and it’s HUNDRED…. not HUNNERD… HUN-DRED..

title should be " the three good towns that are in ms"

  11. AlpineGardner on January 7, 2022 at 1:42 am

Poverty, Incomplete education, crime and methamphetamine often go hand in hand. I’m guessing that if you considered how many people in these towns on your list of worst towns in Mississippi are on welfare it would help explain a few things. Let’s start with poverty. Welfare promotes poverty. I hear about people who will not take a promotion or more hours because that will mess up their government benefits. They can not prosper, they are stuck in poverty because they will not let go of the free money. Incomplete education: people stuck on welfare, raised on welfare, trained at church on how to get more welfare probably reason that they do not need to finish high school. A more pressing matter for someone stuck in welfare mindset is how many children will raise my check. Crime: If you are stuck in welfare mode you can’t work more than a certain amount of hours because it will stop your check. So the only way to get more is to take it. Crime does pay. When you finally get caught then the court system starts robbing you back. Methamphetamine: is just a symptom of the welfare state of MS. Poor and hopelessly stuck at the bottom of the barrel. Where else can you find escape but in the throws of passion in meth. The local meth cook in my area just happens to be in jail right now awaiting trial. He gets bailed out Over and over and starts cooking immediately. More than likely the only reason these worst towns in MS still exists is welfare. This will not be changed easily. My brother and a group of friends tried. This group had a friend who was caught up in the welfare poverty system. They helped him rent an apartment and get a job. He was doing great In less than six months he had quit his job and move back to the old trailer house with junk all around It. When they ask him what happened he said that just wasn’t me. I assume that it will take a long time to get people off of welfare. I just hope that one day these people realize this was done to them.

  17. WhiteBird 6944 on January 7, 2022 at 1:49 am

You should put in Sardis as an honorable mention. I have a friend that goes there sometimes and looks after someones farm and he has to call the police for trespassers twice a week, but none have been caught from what I know. I also used to go to Sardis back during the early to mid 2010’s and it was alright. Fast forward as recently as my trip back in late 2021 and I have never seen a place collapse that fast.

No Disrespect to the ”Good Ppl” of Mississippi, but…you Couldn’t pay me a million dollars to live there…Maybe that’s why the cost of living is so cheap …Nobody wants to live there…trust me,…this is Not Hate…I Live in NYC and Very Few Ppl are gassed about living there, either…However, in Our case…it’s Not a ”poor state”…it’s the Crazy A-Hole Ppl that give NYC the👎🏽…
