Maybe *open* with her making the shot a few times, go "nice reset shot" and *then* explain a bit. Otherwise start indoors in a film room. Continuous foot faulting. And dude – are those *running* shoes? Your partner saves the day! Overall, a good bit of info on what many would call a half-volley drop shot.

    Talk too much

  3. Vito Berlingeri on April 20, 2021 at 9:29 pm

    Nice job guys!

  4. Chris Horton on April 20, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Question: after accidentally speeding up the ball, and presenting a full on slam opportunity to your opponent, what’s the best way to defend against the slam?? Do you have a mindset/technique or approach you use to get the slam back over the net?

This video was great, thank you!!

Love your wife! She did great! I practice with my husband & I hope I can win as many shots as she did! Go Girl Power!! Or maybe less power!!!

  6. Brad Wallin on April 20, 2021 at 9:32 pm

Hi Jordan, the transition shots here are volleyed, wondering about ever letting ball bounce first? Thx.

    Great video
    Terrific pointer

  8. Sarvani Suzanne Viger-Edson on April 20, 2021 at 9:32 pm

I love the way you explain a play, then do it, THEN show it slow motion so we can understand it better! This is VERY helpful. Thank you for the great teaching videos you make.

    ..too much talking..

The spirit of the video is appreciated. However, the 12-minute video can be summarized … "dink"

  12. Seymour Mansfield on April 20, 2021 at 9:36 pm

    Excellent learning video. Thanks.

  13. Jason Peery on April 20, 2021 at 9:37 pm

Whoever can figure out how to do these videos without all of the talking, in other words, whoever can do these videos and can talk WHILE the visuals are going on, is going to crush this space. These videos are great, but the first four minutes of this video are totally unnecessary. Literally show the drills and the playing (the Xes and checkmarks while you are explaining the concepts). You’re welcome! And thank YOU for doing the videos.

Looks to me like Katrina can kick your ass. Maybe she can give you some lessons.
    Good video, Thanks, Joe

  28. Marty Genereux on April 20, 2021 at 9:54 pm

Jordan, let me preface my comments on your instruction style by saying I’m a long time viewer and have learned so much from you. Plus, I fully intend to continue being one of your biggest fans. That said, here is some "Constructive criticism." You videos are way too long because you repeat things three and four times. Remember, the viewer has the option of backing up the video if they choose to hear it again. Keep up the good work, I consider you my go-to guy when I’m struggling we something in my game.

  29. J. Michael Tynan on April 20, 2021 at 9:57 pm

Jordan, nice info., however; this video would be better, and much shorter if you were more economic with your talking.

  30. OvertMammal2662 on April 20, 2021 at 9:59 pm

it was my birthday a few days ago and i got pickle ball paddles and i needed to learn and so this helped me a lot. thx 👍

  31. Mervat Ameen on April 20, 2021 at 9:59 pm

Another great video! I get the tendency to swing on shots when I just need to hit infront. Any tips on how to stop doing that? Thanks !

  32. Jina Allen on April 20, 2021 at 10:02 pm

Thanks for the videos! I don’t know how to hit the balls out of the air like that for a reset. Can you do a video on this?

You guys have the best videos for intermediate players. Thanks

  37. Youngstown Pickle on April 20, 2021 at 10:05 pm

Too much talking in beginning. Almost 4 minutes before a ball is actually hit.
Nice instruction and visuals though once you started actually showing the shot.

  38. Diane Anderson on April 20, 2021 at 10:05 pm

    Great job, Katrina.

  39. flyguy22190 on April 20, 2021 at 10:06 pm

Do you have a video explaining how to do the shot where players take all the pace off a ball and it just plops over to the opponents side of the net and just dies?

  40. mark Heneghan on April 20, 2021 at 10:07 pm

I think his wife is a better player than him.

  41. Chris Hale on April 20, 2021 at 10:11 pm

  44. Aloha Leslie on April 20, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Awesome Jordan! This is something I continually work on…sometimes successful, sometimes not. The problem I have is when playing with bangers or hard-hitters, resetting/volleying a fast ball from mid-court is really challenging! Just the right amount of grip pressure, etc. is needed and it’s not always easy to tell how much to use to make a successful shot. My other problem is I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I want to make the "perfect" reset which oftentimes puts so much pressure on me, I totally flub the shot. Thoughts? Other than counseling… LOL

  45. Paul Ogden on April 20, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Your court is gorgeous. Wanna meet you there to practice resets!

  46. Phil McKinney on April 20, 2021 at 10:17 pm

    Excellent instruction….thanks

  47. Ryan Woolston on April 20, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Hi Jordan, I was at a clinic put on by Ben Johns and he emphasized what an important shot this is to learn.
One video I would like to see would be for good offensive shot options at the line as well as seeing good defensive techniques when you’re trying to reset the point. I would like to have a broader shot offensive arsenal at the line and know where to aim if the ball is attackable (slightly above the net) but I don’t have an angle to hit down at their feet. Thanks Jordan. Your videos are great.

Great video! I have that problem and every partner I play with complains that I lift my shots, but nobody tells me how not to do it. You just did. Your wife has great form and looks beautiful when she is playing! 👏🏻👏🏻
