PRO Mixed Doubles GOLD – 2019 Minto US Open Pickleball Championships – aired on CBS Sports Network

Watch the gameplay that was omitted from the CBS Sports Network broadcast! This is pickleball at its finest and Pickleball Channel is the only place to watch the full match.

This PRO Mixed Doubles GOLD match is a grudge match from 2018, when Simone Jardim and Kyle Yates defeated Matt Wright and Lucy Kovalova in a tight match that went to 3 games.

Simone and Kyle are two of the most winning players in the history of the Minto US Open Championships, they have the hometown advantage, and are one scary duo to go up against. However, they should not expect an easy win. Both Matt and Lucy are former top level collegiate tennis players and often play together in their hometown of Wichita, Kansas. So the question is, do Simone and Kyle still have the magic to take home gold, or will the Kansas duo flip the script of history and walk away victorious?

Be sure to stay tuned next week for the Pro Men’s GOLD match. We will be airing that match for the first time ever in its entirety. You won’t want to miss it.

We are so grateful to the Minto US Open Pickleball Championships for our great partnership! Their collaboration and support makes it possible for us to share these amazing matches so everyone around the world can see them!

Special thanks to Dave Benz, Melissa McCurley, and Mark Renneson for commentating this match.

Boring to watch these two ladies dinking against each other over and over on the same direction. Looks Yates was about to leave the court. Give the ball to these guys so it will fun to watch.

Great play, but any guy over age 14 who wears a hat backwards…really, lol

The small and prestigious list. I can just hear someone now. I’m third best pickleball player in the world! Out of how many players? 3

@ 23:24 – There are many moments in sports where the athlete deserves to be booed–this was absolutely not one of them. Yeah–it wasn’t a great shot, and it was a costly mistake, but why would you openly boo that…? I’ve always heard positivity out of the pickleball community–that surprised me, and not in a good way…

Such a great match! I’ve watched it 3 or 4 times now and I love it every time.

Am I confused or am I missing something…? at 3-1-1 Kile served from the right ( seems ok to me) then Simone served also from the right at 3-1-2 ( I think she should have served from the left) Somebody can help me on that one?

@31:36 OMG! Melissa really said the Erne is also known as an ATP? Wow! I really lost my respect for her on that one.

@ 1:07:10 – It’s either called a "deuce," or it will be specified in the rules as "win by two." Also, you can’t coin "EP" as "Extra Pickleball" since "EP" is already coined as "Engage Pickleball"…

    It is Slovenia not Slovania

Commentator Mark Rennison likes to talk about balls at the midsection and plugging his website. He should be banned from commentating.

    Boy Jardim struggling…

  22. Kevin Dallas on April 13, 2021 at 9:18 pm

What a great match! Simone shows why she is the best female player in the world at 45:17. And when was the last time you saw a sporting event where players appealed and reversed a call that was incorrect IN THEIR FAVOR?!

  23. Josh Goodwin on April 13, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Hey Mark. Lucy’s previous paddle was the Engage Elite Pro. The Onix Evoke Premier and the Elite Pro are the exact same dimensions.

  24. Josh Goodwin on April 13, 2021 at 9:19 pm

Hey Melissa. Matt’s forehand overhead has at least twice the power of Lucy’s two-handed backhand.

I was looking for this video … why does it take so long to release ? Thanks for posting anyways

  26. stewartcor on April 13, 2021 at 9:23 pm

Wish Kovalova wouldn’t wear that short black dress. It is too difficult to concentrate on the game .

    57:36 no foot fault… Dang..

  28. Torvic on April 13, 2021 at 9:30 pm

39:21.. what a shot only Yates..

  29. Andrew Cannon on April 13, 2021 at 9:33 pm

great sport for handicap people, no need to run, jump, lunge, just stand there and reflect balls

  30. Bob alloo on April 13, 2021 at 9:35 pm

Kovalova looks like she could be Sharapova’s sister.

  31. ibh1001 on April 13, 2021 at 9:38 pm

Question: at 13:13, Kovalova clearly volleys a ball that’s in the kitchen. The way the rules were explained to me, it’s never legal to volley a ball in the kitchen, or is it ok as long as your feet are not in the kitchen? Thanks…

    Too much talking by announcers.
