Great advice, great explanations! A tiny bit slow, I put it on 1.25 speed.

Excellent! Thanks so much. I’m often not aware when I’ve "drifted" back from the line. It takes a lot of awareness to know where that line is and stay tucked up tight against it. 🙂

As always, really enjoy your videos. I would like to see a video on how to recognize when to attack the ball at the NVZ. Sometimes I miss an opportunity.

I don’t even know how to play this stupid old person game.

Good video one thing I notice from watching many training videos from different teachers is NO ONE ever takes into consideration or mentions the players physical abilities as to WHY SOME PLAYERS perfer to stand back from the NVZ. One factor is their eye vision as we age some players have difficulty tracking the ball movement. As an example your standing at the NVZ theres a volley taking place between your partner and the opponent suddenly the ball is hit to you but your eyes don’t track the movement quickly enough so you end up completely missing the shot or hitting a bad return. I like many other players feel more comfortable and confident standind further back and being able to have better reaction time to return a shot. In conclusion there’s a trade-off in standing back from the NVZ but to me and many other players it’s had positive results.

My problem has been a tendency to step forward over the line when the ball comes high at  or above my shoulder.

Even if your toe end touches the outer line consider to be in kitchen?

  21. Robert on April 13, 2021 at 9:33 pm

This guy’s videos completely straightened out my third shot drop, dinking and overall strategy. I’m pretty much a solid 4.0 now.
