My Favorite Pickleball Drill | Pickleball Road to Pro 5

My friend Zac Smith and I are sharing two of our favorite pickleball drills with you. The first drill is a serving drill and the second is a transition reset drill that is sure to help your third shots and overall game.

I call the 2nd drill Whackball, where both people stand at the kitchen line and keep the ball in the air. I saw pros warming up like this at the recent MLP tournament on TV and now I do this with my GF. We also have one person stand at the base line, the other at the kitchen line, and whack the ball at the person’s face so they’re ready at the net. I’ve had shots come at my face so now we practice that. I know there’s drills to pivot out of the way, but I’m still working on that.

If Zac controlled his spider man follow thru (get behind the ball and make it more compact) on the resets he would improve drastically with those long arms and legs. However, he does rule with those nice deep serves! Great drills thanks for sharing

Great Video I just learned the drop shot drill. That’s my latest skill I’m working on. This past weekend my buddy and I won 2nd place in a 3.0 tournament and any time I hit it a little too high they hulk smashed it on my with no shot to get it back. So I’m working on my 3rd shot drop.

Zac has a very flowy stroke compared to your very quick and direct stroke, been watching you for a couple months now and I’ve seen your growth in consistency and comprehension in competitive play, keep up the good work, love the content.

Something to note, when you’re spinning the ball, you’re starting the spin behind your paddle. Which would be an illegal serve since you’re hiding the spin.
