When both teams are up at the NVZ line it’s important to be smart and selective about where you place your dinks.

It’s not enough to just get it over and keep your shot “unattackable”. Players are finding ways, more and more, to make dinks that used to be “unattackable” attackable.

In this video, we cover a way that we often see players set up their opponents for an attack and they might not even realize that they’re doing it.

When your opponent hits a dink and sends you wide, it is extremely difficult to return that shot cross court or even down the middle. You need to have excellent mobility, paddle control & anticipation to make that shot, otherwise you have little choice but to dink straight back down the line. This is why aggressive players will look to “hook” a dink into a corner and set up an Ernie. This is obvious to you guys but I’m just saying when a dink goes into a corner (as it should) it’s really hard to counter it by going cross court. Awesome video as per usual!

What if you have a good shot for an ATP to the back corner? I guess that would be the 1% 🙂

Another reason to avoid the shot aside from possibly being erned is because you’d be hitting it to most players’ forehand?
