How to get MORE balls BACK | Briones Pickleball

Hi! Welcome to Briones Pickleball.
My name is Jordan Briones (co-founder of PrimeTime Pickleball), and I’ve started this channel to provide you the best pickleball content on YouTube. My goal (and passion) is to help you become the best player that you can be.

The ready position is a very important part of the game, yet it is often misunderstood. You will hear many cliche sayings like, “paddle up”, or “paddle out in front”, but where should our ready position REALLY be? In this video, we dive deep into the correct ready position at the NVZ line, and we talk about why all the high level players do the same thing. Feel free to share with all your pickleball friends!

If you’d like to receive a FREE doubles strategy mini-course, visit brionespickleball.com
*We may still be working on it, so get on our list so that you can be FIRST in line to receive it!

Formerly known from PrimeTime Pickleball, I’ve decided to start a brand new channel. We’ll be coming out with new instructional pickleball content each and EVERY week! Stay tuned!

I’m so happy for you having your own court, more time with family. Your wife is getting ever better as you know

Do you change the position against player who lob a lot?

  7. Randy Hoffman on November 5, 2021 at 9:07 pm

Just shared it with my email group. You must be clairvoyant, I had this question come up a few times over the past week. I love firefight drills! Keep up the great content.

Thank you Jordan. Bellybutton height is useful. Don’t recall you doing a video on this in the past. Tyson McGuffin and Simone Jardem teach having the paddle much higher and out front. I think bellybutton and close to body makes sense. Close to body for extra time and straight forward for more pop on punch volleys.

Jordan, thanks for the suggestion of paddle height.
Would you suggest taller players hold their paddle slightly lower?

I am 6’4 and thought I’d base my paddle height a bit higher than the net.
I would be interested to see how high you hold you paddle in relation to the top of the net.

Good work Katrina! Give him your best shot!

  21. Cliff Chu on November 5, 2021 at 9:39 pm

do you use this same ‘technique’ for a taller person vs a smaller person? having the paddle at the belly button height for someone who is 5’0, vs 6’0 is a large difference

  22. ed burgler on November 5, 2021 at 9:40 pm

    Good job Jordan.
