I think it’s pretty unfair to have a pro have a say on any rule changes…It’s like letting them make adjustments to their weaknesses

Well done Shea. I’d no idea of the layers it took to push a new rule thru.

    Thanks for the explanation Shea!

Players should not be on any committee.

Great explanation. You might mention that even when the board gives final approval, the rule doesn’t go into effect immediately.
Since the one handed spin serve is more difficult, I expect to see less players doing it, which in turn will make it more effective for those that do use it. Your thoughts?

Excellent video Shea. Thanks for the detailed explanation of the rules process.

As a brand new player in July of 2021, I read the rules, and then made sure I understood the "spirit of the rules" also, and I can’t understand why the spin serve, one handed, two handed, whatever, is legal. I thought the serve was not supposed to be an offense weapon of any type.

Thanks for the thorough explanation of the process. I know that rule changes are made for a variety of reasons. Perhaps the drive to get into a different level of acceptance of the sport as serious business is a prime motivator. This is admirable, but not everyone is a pro and not all players will be striving for intense competition. Some people just like to get out and have a good time, good company and improve our game without huge stress. I will adjust to new serving techniques and the no let serve stuff but do we need 20 changes a year to make the sport more attractive to sponsors and less attractive to the grassroots players. Moneyball vs Pickleball.

Hi Shea! I ❤️ you too!

Why would anyone give this a thumbs down? Great explanation of the process. How long after the 28th do we hear the exact rule change? Assuming they are changing the rule to some degree…

Banning spin serves would be like telling baseball pitchers they can only throw fastballs or tennis players they can only hit flat serves

Where did rally scoring land with ifp and usap?

Loved the explanation of how the all the boards and committees work in relationship to each other and to the official rules for pickleball. Great explanation and visuals!

Great information. Nice and slow for us older folks. 🙂 And it is so interesting that I’ve heard this rule and that rule is now changed, which is untrue. Nothing is official until about Jan 20th or so.

WOW!!! It is so nice to have someone such as yourself to be so knowledgeable and to share that knowledge with everyone else in such a simplified way.

    Hi Son!

Key word… ONE HANDED spin serves next year. Chainsaw serve will be done-zo next year.
