Electrum E VS Pursuit MX’s Paddle Review
Electrum Model E Graphite Paddle
The Electrum Model E Pickleball Paddle has a long 16 1/2″ length so players get the characteristic Electrum spin, power and precision in a shape that results in excellent reach and follow through. It allows for easier lob return, groundstrokes and potent serves. The face is made from high quality Toray carbon fiber which has a texture to grip pickleballs for controlled placement. The core uses only full cells of polypropylene to create a consistently responsive feel, and durable construction.

I agree that it doesn’t spin as much and has less power than the original. My friends are also disappointed with it. I asked Pickleball Central to send me their lightest Electrum E paddle. It only weighs 7.85OZ . I don’t really like this paddle. I haven’t tried adding lead tape to it yet though.

I bought the Electrum Model E pre-release back in April and the model I got was 8.0 or 8.1 oz. I’m surprised that they have gone up in weight so much.

I played the Electrum E at the Canadian Nationals this month and by my 6th match my arm was weary from the bulky paddle, especially at the net. I’m only 140 lbs and 5 ft 7, so the weight and large grip affected my hand speed and maneuverability. What is the size of the Engage Pursuit grip? And I would like to know how it turns out if you do shave down the handle.

Which core thickness did you like better on the engage?

I’m not a fan of the grip size on the Electrum E, 4 1/2 grip is too big, how would you compare these to the Babolat Monster paddle…
