Coach Simone | Advanced Third Shot Strategies

Coach Simone | Advanced Third Shot Strategies

Simone works with 4 of her students to talk about advanced third shot strategies, and shows why it’s not always best to run to the kitchen line after hitting your third shot drop or drive.

    Awesome video!
Can you do a video about 3rd shot drive options?
    When do I try it?
    Where do I aim?

I love that you use players to demonstrate strategy. it’s exactly what I need to move to the next level. Keep these kind of videos coming!

When receiving a great 3rd/5th shot drop, do you always go cross court??

  7. Francis Briggs on October 20, 2021 at 6:01 pm

Thanks Simone. Enjoy watching you play as well.

I love tennis. But I constantly break strings (about every 2-3 times out). I do my own stringing, but it still costs time. Pickleball is nice as you don’t have to worry about breaking strings.

Amazing video, thanks Simone and Chad, explanation was excellent however I’m not certain as to what was being explained about moving on the yellow caution light part.

Simone… grateful you posted this video. The language you use and strategy explanation is supportive especially after the lesson we had today.

Great video. I have a partner who insists that I charge the net on every drop shot. Thank you for clarifying when to get up to the net and when to be more cautious on the drop shot.

I’ve been told by many advanced players not to drop third shot to the person already at the net. What is your opinion about it?

Great video! Thank you so much!
I’ve been playing for 2 years and never missed a serve except for the last 2 months! It only happens when I play. It’s affecting my game, and I feel so bad for my partner. I hope you have the solution, because I tried everything!
    Thank you!

Great video. I watched your Q&A video and you were asked a question on the third shot drop. You mentioned the different aspects and mechanics of hitting a successful drop. Like a compact swing, footwork etc. You make it look so effortless! If you could do a video on this it would be awesome!! Thank you.

I love your videos. I just started playing and feel so frustrated with playing. I tend to hit the ball high and out of the court. It’s so bad the opposing team just stand still knowing its going to be out. I loose with my team because of that.
Thank you for this video I really needed that.

Whoever said “those who can, do…those who can’t, teach” was an IDIOT! You do both and well done in each. And with sweetness and light and down on our level. Looking forward to playing in another USAPA tournament in November, need all the help I can get. Will subscribe and watch every one of your excellent lessons. Thank You, young lady!

The fact that you are not part of the action actually helps to understand the instruction better.

  30. mrbobevans on October 20, 2021 at 6:47 pm

Coach Simone, do you still teach tennis? And what do you think of Anna Leigh going the pro tennis route?
