Some of the main areas we cover in this Pickleball and tennis shoe review:

– The weight, durability, fit and playability of the best Pickleball shoes in 2021, as well as their on court performance characteristics

would these apply to pádel as well?

  2. Gimlegara on May 1, 2021 at 10:33 pm

Hi what do you think about adidas CourtJam Bounce for tennis
    Thanks 🙂

  3. KenneysSeeAmerica on May 1, 2021 at 10:34 pm

Thanks for covering shoes for Pickleball players. I’ve turned many of our club member on to your reviews. I’m now playing in the Diadora shoes. Took several days to break in but now feeling pretty good. However, I really miss my Adidas Solecourt Primeblue Boost shoes. But, the Adidas only lasted 3 weeks before the ankle collars completely broke down. There was almost sharp plastic under the padding of the collar. I’m wondering if the new design of recycled material is to blame.

Great list man! I personally use the Nike vapor cage 4. I have tried a bunch of different shoes but so far the cage 4s have easily had the best durability. That seems to be the biggest complaint amongst Pickleball people is durability. I run through shoes every 2 months. Is that normal for tennis as well?

  5. Lew H. on May 1, 2021 at 10:34 pm

So basically the same shoes as tennis LOL

  6. Max Kozlov on May 1, 2021 at 10:35 pm

    Super duper early gang

  7. Nikko Vilwock on May 1, 2021 at 10:39 pm

Is it normal for you foot to go over the foot bed on the ubersonic 4s or is it just me

  8. Frank Smit on May 1, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Great review, thx! I was waiting for a padel shoe review but this is pretty much the same. Which shoe would you recommend for very narrow feet?

  9. Atahan Niyazi on May 1, 2021 at 10:43 pm

    Where the tennis racquet reviews?

  10. Brandon Knox on May 1, 2021 at 10:43 pm

Random question ! Favorite slides to wear for after tennis to let the feet breath ?

  11. Mark Napartovich on May 1, 2021 at 10:46 pm

You are the best (as usual)! Still you need to take some pickleball lessons 🙂
    What about Asics Court FF2?

  12. Foot Doctor Zach on May 1, 2021 at 10:46 pm

  13. evanc1974 on May 1, 2021 at 10:50 pm

I wear the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 2 for pickleball. Luv em

  14. level27xrock on May 1, 2021 at 10:51 pm

So aside from my comment I left below about the Court FF2’s that I currently use and love, I’m also an Adidas lover and I found a pair of the older Solar Orange SoleMatch Bounce shoes that I got recently and have only worn for a few practice sessions of Pickle, not any serious competitive games like I’ve played in my Court FF2’s. So far my impression of the Bounce’s are they’re decent, good stability and support it feels like, and good grip. However, after watching this I am intrigued now for the Uber 4’s… and I’ve only found 1 retail site online right now that currently has my size and will probably be gone soon.
How would you compare Uber 4’s to SoleMatch Bounce for Pickle? 50/50 or will I be the Tasmanian Devil out there and people will only be seeing me as a blurry trail of movement in the Uber 4’s hahah.
Keep in mind I do like to have the ability to slide on the hard courts, I feel like in the FF2’s even shortly right out the gate when they were pretty new, despite still feeling I had the solid grip I need for pushing off to chase down those drop shots, I am no expert, but I may think that’s due to the wave-ish pattern of the outsole of the FF2’s?
Trying to slide on hard court on the SoleMatch Bounce still fairly new and it’s definitely not there yet, will take some more breaking in and wear down of the outer sole I guess to get that little bit of give.

Thank you for another great shoe video! I use the ASICS Gel Res 8s, I couldn’t get the ASICS Court FF 2 and was barely able to get the GR 8s. Shoe supply, especially with Adidas and ASICS, are still a big problem.

  16. mak smit on May 1, 2021 at 10:57 pm

i tried the ubersonic4 and they were flattened by my 220pound frame instantly…i need a light ,wide based sneaker that can handle 220pounds

  17. Kevin Osborn on May 1, 2021 at 10:57 pm

Thanks Zach. You are the go to guy on the internet to tennis/pickleball shoes. Appreciate you weighing in with respect to pickbleball shoes. Wondering if you have reviewed the Tyrol Drive V or the Acacia Proshot. Both get pretty good reviews but I’d be curious how they stack up to this list of pickleball shoes.

  18. J P on May 1, 2021 at 11:03 pm

I get why shoe stock is low, but it also seems like selection is really low as well. Is this COVID related or are we between fashion seasons or something? Other than Nike, no other company seems like they have that many models or colors to choose from.

  19. Peter Gámez on May 1, 2021 at 11:07 pm

I have a wide foot and I am wearing the Nike GP turbo and the Adidas Solecourt Boost, but the achilles on my left heel cause pain, what can I do? It hurts when I play.

  20. Bruce Mark on May 1, 2021 at 11:19 pm

Love it! Thanks for including pickleball 🙂 You nailed the characteristics of a good pickleball shoe in my opinion. My wide forefoot low volume feet love the Solecourts. I will try the ubersonics (again) next round. Have you tried the Acacia pball shoes? they look interesting as well. Thanks again for what you do!

  21. Matt on May 1, 2021 at 11:22 pm

Thanks for doing this video. Where would the Asics Court FF2(your top tennis choice) rate among these for pickleball on indoor or outdoor hard courts? And is is better to have a shoe like the FF2 that slides easy like the FF2, or to have one that doesn’t’ t for the same surfaces?

  22. Mastiff Comms on May 1, 2021 at 11:26 pm

Sorry man, this is not going to work. Unless you have the pickleball shoes, sponsored shirt, matching shorts and hat, you are going to get "Oh, you must be a tennis player". Reply, " Oh, and I just beat you banging hard shots w/zero dinks lol.

  23. Michael P on May 1, 2021 at 11:26 pm

Wanted to ask you this. Did you play tennis competitively at some point in your life ? Your movement, readiness and hand eye coordination is no average club weekend player.

  24. onlydoodle12 on May 1, 2021 at 11:28 pm

Doc, I have always found all walking, running, tennis shoes uncomfortable. Most conventional shoes have made my midfoot, my calf and hamstrings hurt a lot.
Eventually I shifted to using barefoot shoes and all my problems went away! Even my shin splints were gone!
But when it comes to tennis shoes, it seems that I need to bottom out my tennis shoes in order for them to not cause bad foot/leg pain.
Ive tried the Gel res 7s, wilson rush 2.5, Kswiss hypercourt express in the past and now the ubersonic 4s.
Any recommendations for what shoe I could use without it paining, for pickleball doc?

  25. onlydoodle12 on May 1, 2021 at 11:29 pm

I was waiting for tuesday doc as you said!!
Absolutely not disappointed for doing so!
I just happened to have bought the ubersonic 4s a couple of weeks ago

  26. Mason Wrisley on May 1, 2021 at 11:29 pm

I agree 100% with the ubersonic 4, wish it would last longer though

  27. Tim Wyrick on May 1, 2021 at 11:29 pm

Which shoe would you recommend for a 60 year old suffering from plantar fasciitis playing pickleball 12 to 15 hours a week

  28. Jerome Morrow on May 1, 2021 at 11:31 pm

No, please don’t, Doc Zac. Pickleball shouldn’t be encouraged. When there’s no more tennis facilities left due to being converted to pickleball centres, you’ll regret giving it any time of day!
